Peter Stokkebye PS 403 Luxury Bullseye Flake Pipe Tobacco

Im a big fan of Va/Pers, and this one has become my absolute favorite. The touch of Cavendish really adds smoothness, and is even forgiving to quick puffing. This is definitely an all day smoke if you're into that sort of thing.

I purchased this blend about 1 year ago and smoked a few bowls and thought it’s very good, nothing super special but I thought being Virginia heavy it would age nicely. So after approximately 1 year of age on it I tried it again and WOW absolutely perfect!!! One of the best tobacco’s I have ever smoked. The Virginia’s in the blend mellowed perfectly. The ageing allowed the tobacco to balance out nicely.

The blend consists of V-grass and Louisiana Perique encasing the Black Cavendish. The V-grass contributes a natural sweetness, which is nicely complemented by the robust, fermented spiciness of Louisiana Perique. This combination is harmoniously balanced by the deep aroma of Black Cavendish. The inclusion of hawthorn introduces a mildly sour taste coupled with a delicate fragrance that brings a sense of comfort. The gentle aroma leaves a lasting impression on the palate, likely attributed to the infusion of sugar into the Cavendish within. This blend emits fruity and grassy notes that waft through the nasal passage, accompanied by a subtle spiciness on the tongue. There's a gentle stimulation as the aroma reaches the nose, followed by a mild yet distinct spicy sensation. I find myself making monthly purchases of this blend to ensure its availability for extended aging, as it has become an indispensable part of my collection. The sour taste of hawthorn, with a light fragrance, smells quite comfortable. The soft aroma has a lingering aftertaste, possibly due to the addition of sugar to the Cavendish inside. It has a fruity and grassy aroma that passes through the nose, with a slight spicy sensation on the tongue. A slight stimulation through the nose, followed by a spicy sensation. Every month, I purchase some for further purification storage, which is one of my essential rations.

I like many different types of tobacco and it fluctuates as much with my mood as with what I may have poured for myself at the time. This is my one "always on hand" smoke. This and Davidoff Medallions. Fantastic flavor.

A good solid smoke. Daily for me, generally always in the pouch.

I actually bought this to cellar, so I'll let you know how it comes out in three to five years. I did give it a try in an Altenay meerschaum. Nice freshly baled hay taste with pleasant aftertaste. My daughter said the room note reminded her of a well kept elephant enclosure, a mixture of fresh hay and manure. Not unpleasant, not too strong. I think the strength score of three is conservative. I needed to stop the trial bowl early as I had quite a nicotine buzz (reason for four stars). I hope cellaring mellows it a bit, or I'll need to use it as a blending agent. To be fair, I do not have much tolerance. I have never smoked cigs, and do not inhale.

Love the flake, great for packing a pipe out on the boat or in a breeze. Flavors are plentiful and pick up different notes throughout the bowl... beginning to end. Purchased the first time after a friend suggested I try it. Have purchased multiple times, and buying bulk once again to avoid "out of stock" scenario. It will be "in stock" at my house ;-)

Greatly appreciated to smoke at any time. Start to finish has a smooth experience.

Just getting into Virginias. This seems like a good starting point. Grassy notes along with a bit of sweetness. Very enjoyable.
